I'm Rita, I am a recovering socially awkward introvert and a self-professed nerd!!
While i'll always be an introvert, i learned how to not be socially awkward. Over the years, I was able to practice certain techniques to overcome my anxieties when addressing a large group of people at one time or speaking up/presenting to senior leadership;I however I recognized that I would like to further develop my communication style and command a leadership presence.
Since grade school, I have always been fascinated with behavioral sciences and naturally take the consultative approach to problem solving. I studied industrial/organizational psychology and had some great experiences with consulting. I would love to be a body language trainer as a supplement to my career.
I am currently an HR professional and constantly surrounded by leaders who request executive training and coaching, this would be a great opportunity to use the skill set in my current role as well as part-time training. Learning more about body language has already assisted with employee relations investigations, noticing micro-expressions has helped me with probing and asking questions to get more details during my investigations.
I'm new to the Science of People, only discovering Vanessa just about a month ago. I may be to "young" in the forum to be a trainer, but i'm excited to at least be a part of a community who is interested in learning more about behavioral science as I am.
I'm not just here to learn, i'm here to contribute as well. I hope that I can share my knowledge with others that would be meaningful and helpful.
