Ok, I get that the most professional thing to wear to a job interview is a suit and tie. However, I have a few questions about certain clothing items/accessories, and what colors they should be, and what it/they convey.
I know I'd wear a black suit and black belt. So that's not the issue.
My questions are as follows:
Neckties. What color? I have the following colors of neckties at home: Red, black, maroon, blue, and a gray/black/white combo.
Same with the shirt. I've heard different things on this. I've heard go with the white shirt, and I've also heard go with a colored shirt, but a light blue one. I have both, though my blue shirt is more of a medium blue, almost like the "Create Topic" button on this site.
What about a bolo tie vs a necktie? I mean, in the strictest sense, you could consider a bolo tie a necktie.
I also have dress shoes, but what about dress shoes vs Roper-style boots? I figure if they're shined up they can be just as "dressy" as dress shoes.
What about "accessories"? I've heard accessories should be limited to one or two rings, and possibly a watch.
I'd like everyone's thoughts on this, because I might start putting myself back on the job market, if nothing else to see what's out there.
