Happy, gorgeous and wonderful new year to everyone. May all your wishes and dreams come true and all your needs are met
According to Anthony Robbins, an expert in the psychology of peak performance and Chloe Madanes, a master psychotherapist, there are 6 basic human needs that drive our behaviors and motivations. We all have these needs and prioritize them differently. These 6 needs are:
1- Certainty/ Comfort
2- Uncertainty/ Variety
3- Love / Connection
These needs are similar to Maslow’s Hierarchy in the sense that the priority of each is not fixed for everyone. In fact, we put them in order in a way we think it fits our lives, and the two most important we choose are actually what drives most of our actions if they are not met… or met for that matter.
In relationships specifically, they say if 2 needs are met between the couple, a connection is formed. When 4 are met, a bond is formed. And when all the 6 are met, an everlasting relationship is formed, which we're all craving for.
So, What are your 2 most important needs? How are you fulfilling them?
I will start. My 2 most important needs are Significance and Love/Connection- in that order. 2015 was a year of finding my golden path, which is helping people find their true calling in life. I started my own business in arts, which is one of the way I pursue my purpose. Hopefully this will lead me to fulfil my second and all the other needs. 2016 is going to be a one-of-a-kind experience.
Here is a mini free book that will give you more insight about these needs and help you understand your most important ones to live happy and content. The Six Human Needs.
P.S. @dmbaker177, I know you will be very interested in a book written by Chloe Madanes “Relationship Breakthrough”. She highlights many of the principles of human needs psychology in relationships. Since you’re working on your champion cause to help the newly wed couples, you’ll definitely love the book. Also I think you’re going to love “The Ultimate relationship Program” by Anthony Robbins. It is a fascinating DVD series displaying the human needs in action.
My Heartful Cheers
